{Still Merry!}

Travis was so sweet and planned a day trip for us yesterday:) Our day started off eventful when we stopped at the Spinx station along the way and bought a $1 scratch off that was a BIG WINNER! We won $800 Buck-a-roos!!! What a BLESSING!

It's actually a CRAZY story...

You see, we started our morning off with breakfast at Pete's on Main (which was delicious) and while we were there I mentioned buying a couple scratch offs because we have a little tradition of buying them only when we are going out of town for a trip....just a fun little thing we do...and because we had a couple bucks leftover from a scratch off we won $10 from that my Mom had given Trav at Christmas. Trav said he thought we should just save it and spend it in Cherokee, so good wife I am and all, I agreed;) After breakfast we set off and Trav asked if I wanted to stop and fill up my Spinx Drink (this refillable fountain cup I keep in the car) and I said no but he talked me into it, thinking I'd want something for the road. I noticed my cup was a little dirty so I asked the cashier if I could have a new one. She said I would have to pay for it so I just washed it out good instead, knowing that I had just enough change and a $1 bill to pay for my refill and two scratch offs. I got in the car, smiling, and Trav didn't mind that I came back with the two tickets. He grabbed one and said he thought that was the one I wanted so he gave it to me and picked up the infamous Amazing 8's:) He scratched off the first box and realized he--WE!-- was/were:) suddenly $800 richer! I honestly thought he was having a heart attack because I could literally see the vein in his neck pulsating to the max! Whewwww....that REALLY happened! LOL!

After calling everyone and convincing them we weren't joking about our amazing win, we continued on our way and hit up the casino in Cherokee...since it was our lucky day and all;) Ironically that was the plan all along we just got luckier at the Spinx:) We didn't hit the big jackpot but had lots of fun!

On our way home, Trav took me to the Dillard House for dinner. IT.WAS.FABULOUS! If you've never been, you MUST go!!!YUM! You get all this family style with unlimited refills:) All fresh and grown on site....mwahhh!Sweet tea from a mason jar just makes it that much sweeter! Agree?:)We tried to visit the stables even though it was already dark......and we finaly found this sweet horse;)Thanks to my sweet, sweet, hubby for such a fun day! Although I love him so much that sitting in a padded room with him all day would be (almost) just as fun:)

I know I have TONS of Christmas to recap but for tonight, just a few highlights:)My new money pot to fill with thrifting funds;)...a house that's clean but seems somewhat bare after taking down all the Christmas decorations....but I must admit although it was sad taking it down--it sure feels good to head into the new year with a de-cluttered slate!

I got lucky again and found this awesome easel sitting in my neighbors trash heap...One more perfectly good item saved from the dump:) Gotta get some chalk so Makayla can color with WaWa!Also, I've just about drank myself to oblivion since I've gotten my Keurig for Christmas...thanks Ken and Lynn! I might turn into a mug of apple cider soon;)Now...I must go and devour this delicious dinner....LOVE,
LAURA!!!

{10...}

It's hard to believe in 10 SHORT DAYS it will be Christmas!

The month is FLYING by and I'm just trying to hang on to and savor every single second:)

Here's a little that's been going on during this BUSY BUSY last week...

I found myself a little early Christmas gift:) I couldn't pass up these New Balance tennis shoes at Rack Room Shoes...
...just $11.99 AND I had a coupon for $5 off from a recent purchase I made there. $7 for a new pair of kicks! I just couldn't say no;) Couldn't say no to this pizza either...hehe:)
Other than eating too much pizza:)---I also put out some more Christmas treats...
...and next on my list I wanna do some fresh oranges with cloves stuck in them:) I'm into the old fashioned Holiday traditions!

Tonight was our Sunday School Christmas party and we both ended up with two nice dirty Santa gifts:)
You can't go wrong with Best Buy and Starbucks!Right Honey? :)
Yep, that's what I thought:)

{Peas and Thank Yous!}

Today was a FUN day with our "pod" Molly, Nikki, and We's Mama...AKA: "Happy"....who very sweetly planned the whole thing for her little peas:) THANK YOU MOM!

So...first things first! We had Cracker Barrel for breakfast (Momma's Pancake Breakfast to be exact:) and found some Christmas treats. I am SO looking forward to catching the after Christmas clearance there!
Our pod was one pea short because #5 had to cheer at a BBall game today...missed ya Al Pal!

And next---The Laura Story concert in Greenville:) IT.WAS.AWESOME!
We LOVE We's Mama! ....and we LOVED Laura Story, too:)
Poor Mo, aka: Pea #3, was sick as she could be:( Hope you feel better sistah-friend!
We grabbed a few treats from the vendors after the concert and left for stop #3...
...which just happened to have some Holiday GOOD-ies!
Don't mind if we do:)
"Umm...yes, I'm having one of each...is that a PROBlem?" :)

I got this cute knit head wrap (well, I don't actually GET it until Christmas:) Thanks AGAIN Mom!
...and we found these super cute umbrellas which made me want to book the next flight to rainy NYC----or...on a budget....just do a rain dance:)
and lastly---- I got this wetsuit today (which I'm modeling in the pic:) and it's now on Ebay for some eager water sports fan to scoop up...LOL! I guess I'll just keep it if it doesn't sell...you know, in case the umbrella breaks and it's raining:)
The Christmas socks are the perfect accent,too...dont' ya think? ;)

{Ebay-Style}

Today I'm proud to welcome a guest blogger:) ...and here she is...Miss Sweet Secret! I had these toys (not this exact one) when I was little and my Mom often talks about how much I loved them...and I still do! I keep this one in my purse:) Her two Galoob Sweet Secret friends from the early 1980's, mouse and dog, are up for auction on Ebay right now.
I'm axiously awaiting to see how it turns out...I hope they find good homes! {sorry about the crooked pic...I just couldn't get it to rotate...ugh!}

My other current auctions are a matching set of ALF pillowcases....

...and a matching set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pillowcases. They already have watchers so wish me luck:)

And now...for some STYLE!

I am LOVE LOVE LOVING this red and pink look from New York & Company! I think I'll make something similar my Christmas Eve outfit this year:)

I also LOVE this tone on tone look, also from New York & Company. Gonna have to try that one out, too!

Happy THURSDAY....(as we look forward to FRIDAY!!!)

Laura
