Gettin' Crafty!

The other night I got the urge to make something and this was the result...

I bougth the pink containers at Micheals and put styrofoam in the bottom. I covered the top with Easter grass, and glued on a few Easter Eggs. I used dowel rods (colored with a green magic marker) as the flower stems, glued on the daisy and decorated with ribbon! It was fun!

P.S. I did not make the big, fat cat in the background!

Well I gotta run but I must tell ya I have this song running through my head...

"Here comes Peter Cotontail, Hoping down the bunny trail,
HIPPITY HOPPITY... EASTER'S ON IT'S WAY!!!"

YEA!

Surprise!

I got a very nice surprise today! I was reading through my blog list and saw a new post from PASS IT ON...

As I was reading the post I saw that she is sending me one of her BEAUTIFUL hand-made cards! I'm HAPPY!!! I can't wait to receive it in the mail and pray about who God would have me send it to! If you haven't visited PASS IT ON...you should! It's a really neat ministry!

In other news...

Last night I got to run in Micheal's while Trav was in Pet Smart and I found a really pretty new SPRING flag for outside! I still had my Valentine flag up until a week ago so it was REALLY NEEDED! Only $10 and made of the heavy canvas material that should hold up well during the spring rains we will probably be getting!

Church was AWESOME today! The children's choir sang and I left humming "Hosana" around the house all day long! Our Sunday School class is embarking on a mission project to provide copies of "The Purpose Driven Life" By Rick Warren to every inmate at the Greenville Co. Detention Center so we are trusting God to do big things and help us raise all the money we will need. I'm so excited about it! Our Pastor receives several letters a week from inmates asking for a copy of this book...and we really want to give these people HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT!

Well...

Gonna go watch some TV with Trav and have some Dessert! YUMMY!

Laura

7 days until Easter!

Wow! That really snuck up on me! I wish I would've gotten to it sooner but I'm so excited that I finally got all my Easter decorations out today! I love EASTER TIME! And spring time, too! It's been perfect for walks with Glory and Travis in the evening and flowers are even starting to bloom! The grass has grown a MILE and Travis was so sweet to get out and cut it today after he worked. He's a great hubby! ~SMILE!~

Our yard looks much less "Redneck" now! Yea! And that's always a good thing, huh?

I got to go hold Makayla for awhile this eveing and she slept right on my chest and snuggled her little face up close to mine...awwww! It was GREAT! They are all doing well!

Travis has some plans to watch some boxing tonight so I'm gonna go get a RedBox movie (never got to see Precious), curl up in some PJ's, have a bowl of fat free chocolate ice cream, and enjoy this wonderful Saturday night!

Yea for WEEKENDS!

Laura

Little things...

that add up big!

Here are five little things I do to save money and be resourceful!

1. Always grab a few extra napkins, plastic spoons, ect. when you go out to eat. Throw them in your purse because you never know when you'll need them. I haven't had to buy any in a LONG time! I learned this nifty little trick from my Granny!

2. Always collect empty gift bags that others may just going to be throwing away. I do this at all the family birthday/holiday get-togethers and I always have plenty at home! Save the tissue paper too...who cares if its a little wrinkled and if it bothers you...just iron it before gifting!

3. Take your own drink to the restaurant with you. I know...this may border line weird to some people...but it's not at all to me. I do it all the time and when drinks cost you atleast $2 a pop...your wallet will thank you. Or start carrying your favorite flavor pack in your purse and discretely dump in your water and your are good to go! $2.50 saved that easy!

4. Keep a box full of little samples...like the kind you get in hotels, ect. and pack them on your next trip so you don't have to buy anything when it's time to hit the road on your next vacation. I love requesting free samples online, getting them in the mail, and filling up my box! Always prepared!

5. Buy stuff WAY ahead of time for birthdays, holidays, ect. When I find a good deal I try to think ahead a few months...who's birthday is coming up? who's having a baby?...and buy accordingly. I found the best way for me to keep track of what I have gotten for people is to write it in on their birthday in my calendar so when the time comes I remember that I have already purchased the gift. I also have a spare bedroom so often times I will lay stuff out on the bed to remind myself what I have.

These are just a few things I have found save my family money. Do you have any little tricks that help you do the same? If so...please share them with me!

Yea for saving money!

Love,
Laura

Friday Fun!

Today has been a good day!

Got to meet Bubba at the Mall for lunch (Chick-fil-A...yummy!) and celebrate her birthday with her even though it was a little late! She was feeling much better and we had fun chatting and catching up! I love that girl! She's such a good friend! She gave me the cutest little key chain that she got in her home town...thanks Bubba!

I'm getting alot done today and feeling pretty productive! That's SUCH a good feeling! Tonight will be date night...haven't decided on a movie yet, there's really not too much to choose from right now. I'm thinking Bounty Hunter or Hot Tub Time Machine...

Right now I'm staring at the Cadbury Creme Egg on my desk...trying to decide when to eat it! Lol! It will be my only one this Easter so I wanna really enjoy it! haha! I'm thinking about having it in the movie...that would be a good treat...unless it gets the best of me before I leave the office today...which is highly possible!

Gotta go for now...Have a great weekend! Yea!

Love,
Laura

Which DESSERT are you?

One of my good friends sent me this is in an email today...

DON'T CHEAT AND READ LINE BY LINE! DON'T READ AHEAD!

If all of the eight desserts listed below were sitting in
front of you, which would you choose (sorry, you can only pick one)! Trust me....this is very accurate. Pick your dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists think about you.

REMEMBER - No Cheating. Make your choice before you check the meaning. After taking this dessert personality test, leave a comment letting me know which dessert you are!

Here are your choices:
1. Angel Food Cake
2. Brownies
3. Lemon Meringue Pie
4. Vanilla Cake With Chocolate Icing
5. Strawberry Short Cake
6.Chocolate Cake With Chocolate Icing
7. Ice Cream
8. Carrot Cake
No, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully about what your choice will be.
OK -

Now that you've made your choice, this is what the researchers say about you..... SCROLL DOWN---

1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE -- Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm andfuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. BROWNIES -- You are adventurous, love new ideas, and are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

3. LEMON MERINGUE -- Smooth, fun, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent caregiver and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, you set your own style because you do your own thing. You shine when it comes to helping others and have many friends.

4. VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lacking motivation.. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad.. However, you are a friend for life..

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic , warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. You can be very emotional at times but a true person in every way. You like to do things for yourself and help others learn about themselves.

6. CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING-- vivacious, always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life.. Love to laugh.

7. ICE CREAM -- You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports... You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

8.. CARROT CAKE -- You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends. You were meant to lead and teach others. A wonderful role model.

HOW FUN!

And P.S. I was Lemon Merinque!

Prayers needed...

Please pray for a little girl named Caroline. She has cancer and this is an excerpt from the family's email. Although it is so sad I found this to be one of the most PROFOUND expressions of love, hope, and FAITH that I have ever read...

"This update is hard to put out, but I'll try the best I can. Caroline's body has started to shutdown now. The last few days have been very peaceful, but she's stopped eating and drinking a few days ago. At this point, we have hours left rather than days.

Mary and I have both talked to her and told her that's it's OK to let go now. She's been protective of us though all of this and she's fighting to hang on. Yesterday was the last day that she was able to communicate through simple yes and no. The exception to that is during my talk with her. I told her that God must have really loved us, because out of all the little girls he could have given me, he gave me the best one. In clasic Caroline style, she was able to get out "I know".

While we know that it's time for her to go back to God, it's so hard to let go. We are now just spending time holding her and being together as a family. Please pray for peace and comfort for our family."

I know this family will appreciate as many prayers as possible!

Here are a few more prayer requests:

*My Granny is still having some blurred vision related to some medication she is taking for her giant cell arteriotis. It has been a really terrible side effect but she must continue to take this medication to help her condition*

*Molly, John, and Makayla got home safely today and are looking forward to getting settled in at home and getting a good schedule going!*

*Our NunNun is having a stint put in next week and will be undergoing surgery and needs your prayers!*

*My friend Ann is having tests done after getting some concerning results from a recent physical*

*Bubba is sick...poor thing...she could barely talk the other day*

I know there are more and I'll add them as they come to mind! Thanks all my blog friends for helping me with these prayer requests!

Love,
Laura

Almost an Auntie...

It's about 2:15 am, about four hours since my last post, and Makalya should be here any minute *fingers crossed!* I'll update as soon as I can!

Four hours to go...we think!

Me and the rest of the fam have set up shop in the Maternity Ward waiting room. We got here around 5 pm and have had such a good time waiting on Makayla's arrival!

Molly has been doing really well with her labor...we just found out that she's at seven centimeters which was a HUGE surprise to us all! Dr. Hern just stopped in and said he thinks we might have a baby in about three to four hours! WOO HOO!

Gotta run because everyone is fighting over this laptop! lol!

Yea for new little babies!!!

Love,
Laura

She's on her way!

Molly had a Dr. Appt. this morning and got some great news! Dr. Hern told her to go get some breakfast and come back to the Hosptial to be induced! That means baby Makayla is ON HER WAY!!! YEA! Molly already had her bags packed, in the car, and ready to go...hoping she would not be going back home today. She's ready! And so are we! We can't wait to meet Makayla!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA!

Yesterday was BUBBA'S Birthday!

I hope you had a great day! Sorry I was so sick and couldn't celebrate with you but we're just gonna have to celebrate another day!

You're AWESOME Bubba!

Nothing much to say about this weekend other than...NYQUIL!!!

Happy Birthday Twins!

I'd like to give a birthday shout-out to Lisa and Leslie...two of my very best friends! Hope you have a wonderful day gals!

Just got back from lunch with Molly and Lisa and I noticed Mo's belly has "dropped" some more and I sure wish we could get that little Makayla here this weekend! Lisa's baby is really growing too! I'm excited about all these new babies to play with and love on! Yea!

We had lunch at Pavillions...it was my first time eating there so I wasn't sure what to expect. I got a grilled chicken breast, side salad, and baked potato for only $6.75. That's a pretty good deal! It took a little long on getting the food but it sure was good once it got to the table! I saved a few leftovers for Trav. We're thinking about going to the movies tonight...not sure what we should see??? Anyone have any good ideas?

Did I mention it's FRIDAY! Yea!

Love,
Laura

Finally...FRIDAY!

Woo Hoo!!!
I made it! I thought Friday would NEVER come! I literally DRUG myself into work this morning. I woke up at 8:15 and made it to work by 8:35! Success! I might look like a ragga-muffin but atleast I made it!

Ok...This is TOTALLY random but is this not the cutest picture of a proud Momma with her baby???

It's just SO CUTE!
Ok...on to other things...

Tonight I get to pick Brian up for a fun weekend in Anderson! When Trav gets off work tonight we're gonna go to Cici's Pizza and then tomorrow I'm taking him to see "Diary of a Whimp Kid" which looks pretty funny! I can't wait to spend some time with him! My friend J-LOWE (aka...the BEST comsmetoligist in A-TOWN!) and her little bro might join us! Fun! My sis, Ali, might come too! Yea!

Last night we had Foster Parent Association so I didn't get home until about 9:30 but I was able to get an egg white omelette made just in time to sit down and watch "The Real Housewives of New York". Those are some CRAZY ladies yall!

Well...enough with this random post! Hope you have a HAPPY FRIDAY! YEA!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Hope you didn't get pinched today!

I'm excited it's a Holiday because it's a good reason to go out to eat tonight! I just LOVE going out to eat. It's not so much the "eating" part but more the sitting down, relaxing, and talking that I enjoy most! And the part where I don't have to clean up the mess! Yea!
So far the choices for tonight are:

Olive Garden, Logan's or Mama Penn's...three totally different options...not like deciding between two different Mexican places or something...haha! We must REALLY be hungry!

I told Trav he has to make the final decision because I'm in a very indecisive mood! It all sounds good to me!

ACTUALLY...

Trav was just leaving work and called to say he was really feeling the Olive Garden so it's the OG for us tonight! Yum! I can eat lots of GREEN salad and continue celebrating the day! haha!

Gotta go feed the pets before we head out...

Hope you found a Pot of Gold at the end of your Rainbow...please share with me!

Love,
Laura

I'm Happy!

Today was a good day! My hair turned out great as usual...thanks to J-Lowe!..and I decided to go with a little extra blonde on top with some reddish-hues underneath to spice it up a bit! I get really bored with boring hair...LOL! I had a lot of fun chatting with my friend and getting beautified! *SMILE*

We decided on omlettes for dinner tonight...yummy! Mine was egg whites with mushrooms, onion, green peppers, and FF cheese. Trav's was the same except he got my extra yolks + some ham. Very filling and delicious! A new episode of "16 and Pregnant" comes on tonight at 10 and I hope I can stay up to watch it. My eyelids are feeling pretty heavy though!

Trav got some good and bad news at the dentist today. Bad news: it is definately TMJ. Good news: he got some muscle relaxers to help with the pain and they're making him a mouth piece that should help some too. Yea for Dr. Copeland! Thanks for helping my Hubby!

Tomorrow we have a training at work (I always look forward to that because I can squeeze in time to jot some cards to some friends and make some to-do lists) and it's less time sitting at my desk! And that makes the day go by quicker! Yea! I'm looking forward to this weekend, too...

Why???

My little bro is spending the night with me Friday and we're gonna go see a movie Saturday! Fun! I need to stock up on some gummy worms!

Sleep tight!

Love,
Laura

'Bout to get...

A NeW 'Do!

I'm so excited! I think I need to bump up the BLONDE for SPRINGTIME!

Sunshine+Blonde Hair= A Happy Me!

Think I'll keep it long...although it is sometimes very tempting to WHACK IT ALL OFF! Maybe I'll consider that next winter...

Well...off I go to my Appointment!

Yea!

Love,
Laura

Motivation!

I finally got enough of it to clean my house today! Yea!

I've been SERIOUSLY lacking it since getting back from our cruise...something about having someone do EVERYTHING for you for a week really makes you SPOILED! HAHA! So far today I have gotten my kitchen, hardwoods, and one bathroom floor done and vacuumed the bonus room. I got a bunch of laundry done, too. Left on my list is dusting, kitchen counters and fridge, and detailed bathroom work---uhh!---but that's ok because it feels SO good when it's finished! I am already feeling like a new woman! What is it about a clean house that makes you feel so FABULOUS???

We had a fun girls lunch today with Molly to celebrate her last day at work before Maternity Leave. The gals chose Applebee's which I was excited about until my food came. I hate to be a "Debbie Downer" but facts are facts and my food was NOT GOOD! BOO! I chose the Weight Watchers Grilled Chicken Portabello Mushroom Sandwhich with a side of steamed veggies. The steamed veggies (the few I had...Boo again!) were good but when I lifted the bun off my sandwich I was appauled! A TINY little piece of grilled chicken that looked like it had been cut off the corner of an actual chicken breast. NOT what I expected. But I ate it and didn't complain...just didn't feel like it today...know what I mean? But I will not be ordering that again. But the company, I must say, was GREAT! I sure will miss Mo at work!

Travis has a dentist appt. tomorrow to see about his TMJ which has been really giving him some problems. I hope he gets some relief! It's been hurting alot when he eats. I couldn't fall asleep last night and while I was watching some late night TV he was asleep next to me, grinding his teeth HARDCORE! It gave me the hibbie-gibbies! Like fingernails on a chalkboard or something! EEK! I'm sure that is making his TMJ much worse.

P.S. My little "fruzin" Morgan has the cutest little blog... I sure do LOVE reading it! I gave ya a shout-out, Morg!

Anyway...
I think tonight is a breakfast kind of night! We're gonna have some Turkey bacon, whole wheat toast with sugar-free jelly, grits, and eggs (egg whites for me...Trav gets the extra yolks)...sounds yummy, huh? I love having breakfast for supper!

Gotta go get a few more things accomplished for the day! Yea!

Love,
Laura

I knew it would happen...

We missed Church this morning! Bummer! Both of us fell asleep without setting an alarm clock and when we woke up it was already almost 11 am...oops!

Right now we're on our way to feed Bubba's cats since they're on vacation in Michigan and then heading to the Evening service for a Gospel Concert...we need some worship to start a great week tomorrow!

Probably going to have Firehouse or Subway for dinner...Trav gets the final decision since I dished out the possibilities. I'm secretly rossing my fingers for Firehouse though...YUM!

P.S. Makayla is due in only two more short weeks! Yea! Molly made the CUTEST nursery for her and I just CAN'T WAIT TIL' SHE'S HERE!

Well, Enjoy the last few hours of your weekend!

Love,
Laura

And now...

Live from Anderson,SC...it's Saturday Night!

First, let me tell you that I'm ABSOLUTELY AND TOTALLY in LOVE with SCOOPS ice cream parlor! They have the very best fat-free soft serve I've ever tried! Tonight I had the vanilla swirled with red raspberry cheesecake, topped with a few chocolate chips. For a total of 200 calories and ZERO GRAMS OF FAT you can't beat it with a stick!

Also...tonight was DATE NIGHT! Spending a fun night with Travis just MAKES MY WEEK! Tonight's DATE NIGHT was spent having BBQ, and tons of it, at Saddler's Creek (Travis has been wanting to go for 3 1/2 years...SERIOUSLY!...so it was about time!) They are only open on Saturday so we kept missing it Saturday after Saturday..until today! The atmosphere there was great...down-home country!...and Travis said it lived up to his expectations. Next we went to SCOOPS (aka...my favorite new place in town!) and then had a putting competition at Dick's Sporting Goods. Trav won all four three-hole tournaments but I almost pulled out a win on the last go-around...maybe next time! If you're looking for some good, cheap entertainment head on down to Dick's and putt to your heart's content! Travis got a nice, new glove for tomorrow's round with his Dad...I hope the weather will be nice for them.

After Dick's we thought about hitting up BAM for a little while but didn't really feel like sitting and reading so we came home and watched 17 again. I thought it was pretty good and had some good humor...I love funny movies! Oh yeah...The Informant was just ok...I'm no movie critic so I'll just say it was kinda weird but did have a pretty cool twist at the end that you never expected which was how I finally decided it was "ok" instead of terrible. Never got to watch Precious because the DVD player decided to act up on me. We DESPERATELY need a new one!

Travis and his friend George are at El Arriero watching Pacquiao vs. Clottey. You may be surprised to know that I'm a boxing fan courtesy of my husband's passionate love of the sport. I NEVER in a million years thought I'd enjoy it but somehow...I do! We love having people over for big matches and making a party of it! We haven't done that in awhile but if Mayweather-Pacquiao happens that'll be a perfect occasion to do just that.

I also forgot to update you on the nail polish challenge...

It really did stay put for ten days without chipping! The 9th day I put flea meds on my cat and it messed the polish all up but before that it had stood the test of time so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and an A+! You know a polish is good if it lasts so long you're almost tired of it and ready to change it...and I was. So I would highly recommend this product, especially for the upcoming summer months when the sun, sand, and chlorine reek havoc on the nails.

Time to hit the hay, spring forward, and probably wake up sleepy!

Looking forward to a special sermon we're having a church tomorrow, announcing our Pastor's new vision for our Church! God is doing some amazing things!

Yea for Saturday Night!
Love,
Laura

What actually happened...

Came home after a quick trip to Wal-Mart, ate a whole bag of raw veggies on the way home (probably gonna regret that later), picked up "Precious" while I was there (I've been DYING to see it!), came home and fell asleep on the couch. I just love doing that. Trav called, woke me up, and we both decided just to get a Little Ceasar's Pizza! Pizza! and call it a night! We were just too tired to get up and go to Logan's. Trav also picked up "The Informant" so we're gonna watch that one first...looks pretty good and it's more his speed. And the rain has stopped...YEA!

I LOVE Friday nights!

Rain, Red Box, and Really YUMMY food!

Tonights plans are as follows:

1. Get off work for the weekend! YEA!
2. Go by Goodwill after work for some de-stressing and browsing!
3. Browse around until about 6:30!
4. Go home, let Glory out, and wait on Trav to get home...
5. Go to Logan's Roadhouse!
6. Eat a Great big YUMMY Roadhouse Salad!
7. Chat with my honey...
8. Go by Redbox and pick out a movie!
9. Go home, put PJ'S, on and get comfy!
10. Curl up, watch movie and fall alseep!

CAN'T WAIT!

Also...yesterday was my Aunt Fran's Birthday so....HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRAN...AKA...NARF!!! I LOVE YOU!!! She is so much more than just my Aunt...she's one of my very best friends, too!

Tomorrow I'm attending a couponing workshop at the library (P.S. Honey, I still need you to fix that printer so I can PRINT the coupons so I can then USE the coupons!!!)

I leave you with a little song...

Rain, Rain, GO AWAY....COME AGAIN ANOTHER DAY!

Hope everyone finds a HAPPY way to enjoy this rainy night!

Love,
Laura

The Blahs...

I think I'm getting over a serious case of them. Just been feeling well...like I said...a little BLAH. Might be missing those two days of BEAUTIFUL sunshine...could be a little stress and fatique...possibly work stuff...but I've definately had them. And I'm ready to shake it off! Yesterday was the peak of my 'bout with the Blahs...what a day...but today I'm feeling better. I just had a McDonald's ice cream cone though and I must say it boosted my mood a wee little bit!

Too much to be happy and excited about...Life is too short to let a little mild case of the Blahs get me down..right? :) Although I do still feel like going home, jumping in bed, covering my head, and taking a nice long nap. I think I might.

But anyway...onward I go...with a smile on my face and joy in my heart...and looking forward to a good Friday tomorrow!

Love,
Laura

So much TV....so little time!!!

Tonight has put me in quite the conumdrum...

What to watch?

Intervention...
Hoarders...
Pawn Stars...
Pickers????

Ahh...too many good choices for one night! Will probably just end up flipping back and forth between them all!

Cooked dinner tonight for the first night since getting home from our cruise...GASP...I know-I know-but it's tough getting "back to life, back to reality" (remember that song...lol!) It was homemade chicken fajitas for Trav and a chicken taco salad for me. It felt good to get back in the kitchen for a little while. Looking forward to curling up in the bed, writing a thank you letter on my cute new cupcake cards- courtesy of the One-Spot!)to this sweet little lady who comes in Travis's bank (she sent home a styrofoam cup labeled "Mrs. Rada" filled with daffodils from her garden...*SMILE*!)and trying to clean out and organize my very cluttered pocketbook.

Gotta go...I hear my pillows calling my name!
Good night all!

Wanna win a tote?

If so, enter the contest over at Made by Stephie! You'll also enjoy browsing through all her cute ideas!!! Good Luck to all!

As for the nails...

Still chip free after five whole days! I'm pretty impressed because after all the digging I did in the Goodwill bins and cleaning a little (notice I said "a little") at the house I don't see a single chip. I hope they can go the distance...five more days to go to see if they can stay chip free for 10 days as the package promised. I must say I have noticed the slightest bit of what I would call "normal wear" along the very tip top edges of my nails but not noticable...only to me because I'm giving them the super-inspection!

Weekend Update!

Well...another fun weekend and more great memories!

Friday night Trav and I went to Chic-fil-A for some quick dinner and then to see the new Alice in Wonderland in 3-D and it was AWESOME! I LOVED the Chersire Cat...too cute and the Mad Hatter was certainly "MAD!!!"..I highly recommend it! It actually has a great plot and storyline but I won't go into that because I might spoil the surprises for you...and I wouldn't wanna do that!

Saturday morning I met my friends Bubba and Kathy for a girls day. And just let me tell you that Sunshine+Cracker Barrel+Thrift Store Shopping= A TOTALLY WONDERFUL DAY!

While we were at the Goodwill Clearance Center we found some great deals...In fact I left with 18 items for $11.99 which meant each item cost me about $0.67!!! Yea! I also got a new Caboodle to organize some of my stuff (not sure if I'll use it for jewelry, makeup, or my new sewing stuff yet...) and a new pair of kakhi shorts to wear to some of Patrick's golf tournaments this spring! And speaking of Spring...it just can't get here soon enough! I am lovin' me some sunshine!
We found us each some "PJ'S" at Goodwill, put them on over our clothes, and then went to Bruster's for "PJ DAY" and got a free waffle cone!

When we got back to Anderson Travis and I met my Mom, Dad, Aunt Fran, and Uncle Carl to celebrate my Mom and Fran's birthday! We had lots of fun eating at the Golden Corral and then shopping at Target. Boy I tell ya though...there's really a different breed of folks in Golden Corral on a Saturday night...lol! But we had a WONDERFUL time!

Finally, on Sunday we went to Sunday School and Church and then Trav played a round of golf with his Dad and I joined Vanessa for the Follies. Trav's Grandmother, Bette, has been doing the Follies for years and I always look forward to seeing her perform! She looked so BEAUTIFUL and did such an awesome job!

After that Trav and I went to grab a bite to eat at Firehouse Subs and then got to spend some time visiting our friends Brooke and Patrick and their little girl Bailee and newborn son Nathan. We had a great time and their 3 yr. old Bailee even recited the ENTIRE Old Testament for us!!! WOW! I can't even do that! I was SUPER impressed! She also gave us a "Princess Fashion Show!" Too cute!

Well...it's time to start another week! I'm so thankful for all my family and friends who make my life so special!!!

Yea for A FABULOUS WEEKEND!!!

~Weekend Plans~...Yea!!!

Well folks...it's shaping up to look like a Fun and Busy Weekend!

First of all yesterday was my Mom's birthday so I'd like to give her a great big "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" shout-out!!!

Yesterday Molly and I went to the Upstate Kids consignment and had lots of fun although I'd have to say some items were WAY overpriced but you know I am a "DEAL HUNTER!!!" But I did find a pack-n-play for Makayla when she comes to my house for $10...Woo Hoo!!! And I started Makayla's Dr. Suess book collection, too! I just already love that little girl to pieces! She'll be here before we know it!

Today has been EXTREMELY busy so far at work but it IS friday so no complaints! My unit is going out to eat for lunch to celebrate my co-worker Renea's birthday and then tonight me and Trav don't have any plans yet but I'm thinking it would be nice to go out to eat and chat because we've both been so busy that we have barely had any time to do that this week. And Trav is feeling lots better already...must have just been a little bug or something.

Tomorrow I'm meeting my friend Bubba and two of her friends for Cracker Barrel breakfast and a day of thrift store shopping...lots of fun to be had!!! Sunday Vanessa and I will be going to see Travis's grandmother, Bette, perform in the Follies! She really steals the show!

Boop...boop...a doo...BOOP!!!

TGIF!!!
Love,
Laura

Bye Bye Sunshine..Hello Snow!

Weird...

I just spent the last week in a tropical paradise and now I'm at work watching the snow fall and bundling up to keep myself warm!
I think both are beautiful in their own way so I'm not complaining! I just wish we could get off work early...(we already tried a snow dance and it hasn't worked so far)...

Also, this scripture is on my heart today and I wanted to share it...I'm sure you have heard it but just think about how BEAUTIFUL it really is!

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,b but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

When I mess up a milliion times, God still loves me. When I lose, I'm a winner to Him. When I don't deserve anything good, God whispers, I'll never leave you nor forsake you...I chose you and I love you. When I sin, he forgives and when I cry, he wipes away every tear. When others have lost hope in me, God hasn't.

It's not always easy to love but God provides us with an opportunity, by knowing Him, to love others in this way. I know I fail ALOT but I'm proud to serve a God who enables me, by His Grace, to love others in EXTRAVAGANT ways. And I'm so happy I have people who love me this way too! Everyone deserves to be loved!

Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!
