{Fun with the Fam!}

Dinner at Wild Wings...yummy! Thanks Mom and Dad for the nice treat :0)
Me, Ali, and Ty
Either Ty forgot his glasses and couldn't read the menu well or he was hiding from the camera!
That's better!
And finally, Ty got to experience Rex, aka "The King of the Castle!"

{And then there was THE DAY AFTER...}

At 3:00 am this morning I was in line at Belk...along with at least 500 other people! Luckily I was just in time to get a gift card worth 10 bucks. Score!
It wasn't even that cold this morning and that deserved a thumbs up!
After our first hour in Belk it was time to make a drop off in the van...and we ended up making three more trips to unload before breakfast. Yes...we're the crazy ones!
Our morning grub was a yummy combo from Chick-fil-a courtesy of "Happy!"...THANKS MOM! {excuse the scary red eyes...lol!}
Makayla was such a wonderful shopper {as usual} and kept us entertained all day long!
P.S. Isn't my momma just so pretty?!~I just had to brag on her a little bit!
AWW!
Makayla loved riding on the car--- she was holding on so tight! Look at her little hands on the steering wheel!
I caught a ride with her for a little bit...My feet appreciated the break!
About half way through our shopping adventure Molly turned into an Elf...
...and Nikki sprouted a Christmas tree on her head~ must be all the Christmas spirit!
Makayla is such a ham! And notice the bib----so true, especially when you have three to help spoil you rotten!

After 14 hours of shopping, laughing, and making wonderful memories we finally managed to fit everything into the van!
Granny was tucked somewhere safely inside but we had to keep the doors closed or stuff would've fallen out the side~All I could see was her head when I looked in to tell her bye!
What a fun day with VERY FUN PEOPLE! ----and I only have two gifts left to buy...YAY!

P.S. Thanks Narf (aka Fran) for the Delicious Olive Garden lunch! That was too sweet!

Love,
Laura

{Gobble, Gobble!}

T-minus one hour until we need to be heading out the door for E-town to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family and friends!

So far, this is how the morning has gone down...I got all my fall decorations packed up and ready to go to the storage building...
A green bean casserole smelling good in the oven...
Some other dishes are getting whipped up....
some games to take to Granny's...
My new red bag is packed and ready to go for the Christmas Season...
But---I am no where CLOSE to being ready....
and it's time to get a sleepy husband out of bed!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!

Laura

{Sunday School Yard Sale!}

The morning started at 5:30 am...I can't even remember the last time I was up that early...lol! We had to be at our church yard sale by 6:30 to get everything ready to roll...
...and it was COLD!!!

I had a stop to make on my way---can you guess where I am?
That's right!
What yard sale can begin without Bojangles biscuits for the hardworking crew?
My friend Kim's family was there and her cute kids found backpacks just right for them!
And thankfully---the sun FINALLY broke through late afternoon!
We couldn't have done it without "Patrick the Salesman!"...
...and everyone's hard work!

My buddy, Caroline, helped me stay warm and we had fun doing some arts and crafts during the down time.
She painted ME!....
and a poster!
And guess what???
We met our goal! We were able to raise enough money for our special guy...plus some!!!
Thanks to everyone for all your hard work and generosity!
P.S. So sad I didn't get a group shot with the gals! I must have been hiding under a blanket and missed the opportunity while we were all there together...bummer! Brooke and Kim...don't let me forget next time!
Love,
Laura

{Friday Thoughts!}

I AM SUPER EXCITED THAT IT'S FRIDAY! Can I get a YEEHAW!?!

Ok, maybe that was a little much...hehe...but I'm so happy the weekend is finally here!

So...I'd like to take a mintue to expound upon my facebook post regarding this recent Yahoo news story--

First, I would like to say that I know many amazing and awesome people who are single parents, divorced, or have chosen to raise their children together without getting married. I LOVE these people and most of them are AMAZING parents. I also understand that the word family is not determined strictly by the stereotypical married couple with two children....especially in working with foster children and families, I realize that a family can be ANY group of people who love, support, and care for each other. Thank goodness for that!

However, what I do find sad is that many people are overlooking God's perfect design for families---starting with a marriage, a committment of love and faithfulness to God and to each other that is meant to last FOREVER! I know from God's word that there are very specific exceptions to that but I also trust and know that God's design is better than anything any of us could come up with for living a life full of JOY! I have been in unhealthy relationships that weren't characterized by God's design and instructions so I know the pain that can bring first hand but by God's Grace I also know the JOY and PEACE that a marriage built around a love for God brings into your life! Will it always be PERFECT? NO. But can you make a committment to love each other through it all...YES!

Give God's plan a try...you won't regret it!

So... my hearts desire is that all people know that they are loved by a God who has an amazing plan for their life and has provided us instructions on how to do that in his Word.

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
Genesis 2:21-24
So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bonesand flesh of my flesh;she shall be called Woman,because she was taken out of Man.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Genesis 2:18, 21-24

Thank you Lord for being so GOOD, COMPASSIONATE, AND FORGIVING TO ALL YOU HAVE MADE!

And on a lighter note...hehe...Try this optical illusion..it's awesome! I wonder why that happens?

HAVE A FABULOUS FRIDAY!

Love,
Laura
