Boo!!! Happy Halloween to YOU!

Happy Halloween everyone! We are enjoying a wet one here in Anderson,SC! But...it's not going to put a damper on OUR fun!

Last night Trav and I went to a Halloween party at my Friend Jessica's house and had a great time! We dressed up like Hippies and I must say trav looked right hilarious in his big fro, big sunglasses, and bandana! Jessica was dressed as a little DIVA witch..SO CUTE...and her husband Ray was a blind referee. We met two new couples and enjoyed getting to know them too!It was a good time of fellowship! Jessia had her house decorated so cute and had lots of DELICIOUS goodies from good ole' grilled chicken to witches brew! The witches brew was my favorite! You take vanilla ice cream and blend it with apple cider...YUUUUMMMYYY!!!

Pictures to come soon...can't download them on the computer I'm using today...shucks!I'll try to get them up Monday.

Trav had to work until four today so when he gets home we are going to go out for Mexican...I've got a CRAVING for it!...and then come home and see if we get any trick-or-treaters! And boy do I hope we do because I have a TON of candy and Lord knows I don't need to eat it all!

I also found some good deals out shopping this morning! Burkes outlet had Mens socks on clearance and Trav ALWAYS needs them. I was able to get six new pair of dress socks for him for only $3.00! Can't beat it! I also found a Christmas gift for one of my friends and got some other little goodies that were one sale at Big Lots, including a Halloween CD with cute Halloween stories and spooky sounds for $0.75 to play for the trick-or-treaters tonight!

Stay safe and have a VERY HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Yea for pumpkins, bats, and scary cats! LOL!

Happy Halloween Eve!!!

Yesterday was a BLAST!

We celebrated Halloween at DSS and had trick-or-treating, face painting, cupcakes, candy, and plenty of CUTE costumes!

Here are a few pics of my WONDERFUL CO-Workers in their Halloween best!!!

Then Me, Travis, and Glory went to the Downtown Block Party and Chili Cook-off and ate Chili to our hearts content! There was a very big crowd which made it even more fun. Our vote went to Matty's Funky Chunky Chili but we didn't actually get to vote because we waited too late...but that one was our FAV for sure! Glory behaved so well in the big crowd and we enjoyed taking her with us! She's a very special part of our family!

Yea for costumes and candy!!!

Thanksgiving Ideas!

I found a great appetizer to make for Thanksgiving and it's SO CUTE it could also be a centerpiece so you could kill two birds (preferably Turkeys this time of year...haha!) with one stone!

I was browsing the Disney Family Fun website (which I think is absolutely WONDERFUL!) and found this cute Turkey!

for the recipe and whip one up for your family too!
Yea for Cute Turkeys!!!

It'll be here before we know it!

I certainly don't wanna rush through life but I can't help but start getting excited about the Holiday season when the weather starts cooling down and I start seeing leaves on the ground and then Christmas stuff in stores...Yippee!!!

These are my plans for the upcoming holiday season thus far...

First Halloween since it's right around the corner!:

Thursday all the children will be coming trick-or-treating at DSS! It's always so much fun!!! The children all dress up and so do we! We all decorate our doors too and the winner gets a dozen doughnuts...like I really need them! LOL! My unit is going to decorate our door tomorrow but I'm not sure what we'll do yet...I gotta get my creative juices flowing! Hmmm....I need a teacher friend to help me about now...they always have cute ideas...I think I'll be calling my mom on this one! Also, my friend Jessica is having a Halloween party Friday night so me and Trav are dressing up like Hippies! Then Saturday night, the 31st, I'm gonna meet up with Mom, Fran, Ali, Morgan, Cam, and Brian for trick-or-treating! If you ask me, there's nothing better than good old fashioned trick-or-treating...some of my VERY BEST CHILDHOOD MEMORIES! My favorite Halloween EVER was when my family went Trick-or-treating with the Bradfords and we loaded up in their station wagon dressed as babies! We had bottles full of apple juice, long gowns, bedroom shoes, pig tails, freckles and passifiers! I was probably about seven and I'll never forget how much fun we had! Those were the days when you could go get great big treat bags full of stuff from church members and neighbors and my Granny and Aunt Fran would always have a very special treat for us!

Thanksgiving:

I'm bringing the apple cider (a family tradition and WE LOVE IT!)I'm also brining a warm spinach and cream cheese artichoke dip for appetizers! We celebrate Thanksgiving at my Granny's house in Elberton and she's a GREAT cook! I really need to learn how she does everything because I want to carry on all of her Thanksgiving feast traditions many, many years from now! I want my children to be able to enjoy the same kind of WONDERFUL things my Granny has always made for me!
I'm trying to think of another fun activty for Thanksgiving (besides watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade which is a MUST!) and I think Me and Trav might participate in the Electric City Gobbler race (i'll be walking....haha!) and then help serve at a food kitchen early that day before going to Elberton for our Thanksgiving dinner.

Christmas:

I've already been thinking about Christmas too! I like to make it last like three months so I start getting into the mood really early! lol!
I've already bought gifts for my co-workers (found some excellent deals I just couldn't pass up!) as well as some of my friends. We also planned a big "WELCOME CHRISTMAS PARTY!" with all of my family...we're gonna all meet up in Anderson for dinner and then go see A Christmas Carol in 3D afterwards and then go look at Christmas lights! That'll be the first weekend in December and I can't wait!

But like I said....I will enjoy today because it truly is A GIFT!!!!...and I'll keep looking forward to the WONDERFUL days ahead with all the people I love most!

Yea for HOLIDAYS!!!

Recipe worth sharing!

I'm certainly no Betty Crocker so when I find a really GOOD, really EASY, really CHEAP recipe I get REALLY EXCITED! I found this on another blog I read sometimes and thought I'd give it a try!

Peanut Butter Cookies!!!

Set oven on 325
In one large bowl mix together:

1 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir until mixed well and then make into small balls. Press balls down with a fork to make a little criss-cross design. I'm not sure if you have to do this but I always have for peanut butter cookies and I think it helps them cook right...who knows...but just do it! lol!

It should make about twelve or so cookies. They don't get bigger when you cook them so don't worry about them expanding.

Bake for 15 minutes and then let cool about 10-15 minutes to let set (it's important to give them plenty of time to set)and the end result is pure GOODNESS!

I mixed a bag of MnM's in one batch and mixed a crushed up Heath Bar in another batch and both were DELICIOUS but I think the Heath Bar was the best.

You should try it!

Enjoy!

A GREAT WEEKEND!

Well...let me tell you about our weekend!

Friday night me, Molly, Kassie, Bella-Grace,and Jessica went to Cracker Barrel to eat dinner. Bella Grace entertained us by counting her fruit stripe gun, telling us what color it was, and then sharing a piece with us after she chewed most of the pack! lol! If you haven't caught on yet...she's almost three! lol!

After we ate me and Jessica went to see couples retreat and it was really funny! She's sweet and gave me a t-shirt she had gotten for me :) I enjoyed the movie and it made me think of my WONDERFUL husband the whole time and how much I love him! I'm just always so thankful to God for the blessing of a godly husband and HAPPY HAPPY MARRIAGE! Side note: I broke my tooth on a gobstopper during the movie....UGGHHH! I absolutely DREAD going to the dentist too! Shucks!

So...Saturday morning I slept in until about 10 and then went to Konner's 1st birthday party! He was so CUTE! He went to town on his birthday cake and had to have a quick bath after in the sink!

My friend Kassie had to go to the Emergency room Saturday because she was in lots of pain and wasn't sure what was wrong. She is doing ok now and waiting on some test results so If you're reading this please say a little prayer for her!

After the party me and Trav watched some football together and someone came to look at the Camper and were pretty interested but...SURPRISE...it didn't crank...hahaha you just gotta laugh when it comes to the Georgie Boy...so we'll see where that goes...hopefully it will be going right out of our driveway pretty soon...

This morning we went to New Spring again and had a great time! There were MANY people who got saved today so I know all the Angels in Heaven were rejoicing today!!! In fact a lady right in front of me and an older gentleman right behind me accepted Christ today and it brought happy tears to my eyes! Then we went to New Prospect because we had nursery duty and we got to keep a beautiful little baby girl so it was the perfect Sunday morning! We are still praying about our church situation and trusting God to lead us in the right direction. We went again with Tim and Vanessa and its nice to be there with family! We had lunch at the new Mexican Restaurant near our house and it was oh-so-good!

This afternoon we took our "Sunday nap"...lol!...and then went grocery shopping which was a MUST considering we really had NOTHING to eat!It feels so good to have a full pantry and fridge to start the week. That in itself is just such a blessing and makes me think of how good GOD is!

One last thing...GUESS WHAT???

Molly felt the baby kick for the first time today!!! More happy tears for me!!!

Hope everyone has a blessed and wonderful week!

IT'S TIME FOR WEEKEND UPDATE!

What a FUN weekend!

Friday night we went to the Elberton Fair, one of our annual traditions...lol, and had a BLAST!

Ali, Morgan, and Audrey went with us and we encountered numerous rednecks, thugs, and even saw someone get arrested so yes...it was quite an interesting night! But what else can you expect at the Elberton Fair...right???

So, obviously I didn't let the girls out of my sight! We ate some yummy fair foods...snow cones, funnel cakes, candy apples...and no one ended up getting sick. Well, I take that back...Morgan walked out feeling pretty bad after our last ride on the high speed rocket ships but she survived! Yea for Morgan!

We also watched the Rock and Rock Express wrestle! Apparently, after Trav explained this to me, they are a famous wrestling tag team of yester-year and it was HILARIOUS! Trav got his picture taken and I can't wait to post pictures of our night! We finally got home around 1 AM and were EXHAUSTED!

But...never the less, we got up Saturday morning and had a YARD SALE! It was very last minute but ended up being fairly successful! Molly came over and sold some stuff with us too so I really enjoyed getting to spend the morning with her! I was just so happy to get rid of a bunch of JUNK! lol! Trav went and played in the dog fight at Cobb's Glenn and ended up winning so we were BLESSED this weekend with a little extra cash! Never hurts!

That night my parents invited us over for a cookout. They were camping at Springfield campground here in Anderson. We ate burgers, brats, grilled chicken, baked beans, potatoes, and roasted marshmallows for dessert! Yummy!

Then this morning we went to New Spring with Tim, Hunter, and Vanessa and had a GREAT TIME!!! The Kenya Children's Choir performed "The Revelation Song" and "Mighty to Save" and it was such a wonderful time of Worship! Then we all went to Bill's Restaurant to celebrate Hunter's 18th birthday! His real birthday is this coming Tuesday but we went ahead and celebrated today! We all had a GREAT time! Unfortunately I didn't get to take pictures today during our little party because I left my camera at the campground Saturday night! Shucks!

Anyway, here's wishing you a very HAPPY MONDAY tomorrow!

Yea for annual fair traditions, campground cookouts, yard sale success, and an AWESOME Sunday with family!!!

Gotta love the little things....

Today after work I loaded my backpack with the cute little Halloween cards I bought for my little sister, brother, and cousins, some markers, crayons, stickers, a water bottle, and a blanket-put Glory on her leash- and then took off for the park that is only about a five minute walk from our house.

We spread out our blanket, Glory laid down beside me, and I decorated the cards and got them ready to mail off. I always love sending them a card with those dollar frosty coupon books from Wendy's at Halloween. It was so relaxing, Glory behaved so well (such a GOOD girl!), and it was a wonderful moment in my busy day!

Now I'm just waiting on Trav to get home and I'm cooking a cheesy chicken casserole for dinner! Sounds yummy, doesn't it???

Yea for little blessings and simple moments!

The Biggest Loser

I ended up watching the Biggest Loser by chance tonight while I was working on my new blog background, ect. and I realized it's a really good show!

It was very educational...you get TONS of good tips on how to eat healthier and I learned lots of things I didn't know before tonight. For example, if you have to choose a fruit, berries are always the best choice. Fruits like banana, grapes, and melon which are the ones that are my favorite and the ones I always buy are loaded in sugar and therefore not quite as good for you. Don't get me wrong...all fruit is a healthy choice, it's just berries are the best!

Anyway...I have decided I really like this show! Now I've just got to GET TO IT, STOP TALKING ABOUT IT, and start DOING IT!

Yea for learning how to get healthier!

Morgan's Hippy Party!

Pics...I promised!

Girls day with Ali, Meredith and Mo and Granny's Birthday!!!

It GOT me!!!

Still having technical difficulties with the lap top, hopefully to be resolved soon, but I'm still here! Boy do I miss my normal blogging routine!!! I can't wait to be back and able to post all my pictures too! Anyway, I am finally feeling well enough to post this so here it goes..

I am just getting over the H1N1 Flu!!! EWWW!!!

I hope all you readers (aka: my family and friends :) are blessed enough NOT to get it because it is a BEAST! But I'm well and thankful for all the prayers and get well wishes! I actually get to go back to work tomorrow and I'm more than ready to be out of the bed for awhile! Trav took great care of my and miraculously has avoiding getting sick so far so continue to keep him in your prayers! Also, keep my bro-in-law John in your prayers because he's recovering from it too! GOODNESS!

Anyway...I also got out all of my Halloween decorations and spruced the house up a bit and it is starting to really feel "spooky" in here! LOL! I absolutely LOVE fun Holidays!!! Especially those with candy and costumes involved!

I also need to wish a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my special little "FROUSIN" Morgan (because we are friends AND cousins...haha!)!!! We celebrated her birthday with a HIPPY PARTY and got all dressed up and everything...pics to come soon!

Molly's pregnancy is still rolling along perfectly and I also just found out our friends Brooke and Patrick are having a little boy!!! Aww...too sweet! I'm glad I finally got on my blog because all this great news really cheered me up!

Well...Hope everyone has a MARVELOUS MONDAY!

Yea for Tammiflu, Hippy Frousins, and growing babies!!!
